Before roof and electrical plans are final
Reserve panel space, safe maintenance access, a suitable equipment location and electrical routes. Ask the architect to coordinate fixing and waterproofing details with the solar designer.

Building near Cerritos Beach, planning a home in Pescadero or reviewing a property in Todos Santos? First establish how the property will receive electricity. A house with CFE service, a condo with a shared roof and a lot without a confirmed connection need different solar proposals. You can start a new-build inquiry with plans and an appliance list instead of a CFE bill.

Choose the system
Ask for the exact property's active service details or the utility's connection scope and timing. A nearby pole, a development brochure or a neighbor's meter does not establish the service available to your lot.
| Property condition | What the proposal should address |
|---|---|
| Active CFE service | Annual kWh, daytime use, tariff, roof production and the applicable surplus-energy arrangement. |
| CFE connection proposed or unconfirmed | Connection decision and timing, temporary construction power and the cost of alternative supply. |
| No utility supply | Daily and overnight energy, battery and inverter power, reserve, recharging and a generator assessment. |
| Condo with shared areas | Roof authorization, unit versus common-area meters, and who owns and maintains the equipment. |
Local planning
Use the area name to organize a visit, then design around the particular building and lot. These checks help the architect, builder and owner provide the information a solar specialist actually needs.
| Location or project | Checks before quoting |
|---|---|
| Cerritos Beach home or condo | Private or shared roof, unit and common-area meters, pool loads, summer occupancy and delivery access. |
| Pescadero or San Pedrito new build | Connection status, planned A/C, water pumps, roof layout and equipment location before finishes. |
| Todos Santos, Las Tunas or Las Playitas | Actual utility supply, roof and design approvals, access and the loads required overnight. |
Construction
Serenity at Cerritos publishes 2026 construction updates for a 15-residence project. It is a documented example of local building activity, not a count of all construction in the corridor or evidence that those homes are off-grid.
Reserve panel space, safe maintenance access, a suitable equipment location and electrical routes. Ask the architect to coordinate fixing and waterproofing details with the solar designer.
List actual A/C models, hot-water equipment, cooking, pumps and intended occupancy. Include guests and summer nights if the home will be rented. Confirm whether a pool or electric vehicle is part of the finished project.
Request commissioning records, operating limits, warranty contacts and a demonstration of the selected backup loads. Confirm who will support the property when the owner is away.
Compare budgets
Compare panels, inverter, mounting, protection, electrical work, transport, labor and taxes. For storage, compare usable kWh and output kW separately. For a generator, include fuel, maintenance and safe integration. Ask each supplier to identify scope that depends on the site visit.
If utility service is unavailable, size daily energy, overnight storage and a plan for low-production days.
For a CFE-connected home, compare roof production, actual electricity use and the complete installed scope.
Define backed-up circuits and required runtime before choosing storage capacity.
Account for cistern and pressure pumps while keeping water availability separate from electrical backup.
FAQ
You can start an inquiry using the lot location, plans, build stage, appliances and occupancy schedule. Confirm utility status first. The automatic bill-based quote is not a complete off-grid design; a specialist must review the loads and site.
A town name cannot establish the power supply to an individual property. Check the lot's actual CFE service or connection decision before comparing grid-connected solar, backup and full autonomy.
The installed cost depends on the roof, equipment, electrical work, delivery access and whether storage or autonomous power is needed. Ask for an itemized quote with taxes, travel and provisional site work identified. A grid-connected package and a full off-grid system are not equivalent prices.
Confirm roof rights, community approval and which meter will receive the production. Also agree who owns, insures and maintains the equipment. Roof area visible in a satellite image does not establish permission to use it.
A system can be designed for selected A/C loads, but it needs verified equipment power, operating hours, usable battery energy, reserve and sufficient recharge capacity. Panel count or nominal battery capacity alone cannot establish overnight performance.
